Escape the coastline and experience two days of immersive gravel riding through the Noosa Hinterland, Mary Valley, forests, valleys, and classic country towns. Covering approximately 200–250km over two days, these self-guided adventures combine stunning scenery, quiet gravel roads, challenging climbs, and unique overnight stays in the heart of the hinterland.
Day 1 — Noosa to Pomona
Leave the coastline behind and roll out from Noosa through the Lake Weyba and Eumundi regions before heading deeper into the gravel roads, forests, farmland, and rolling backroads of the Mary Valley hinterland.
The route delivers constantly changing scenery, from rainforest-lined gravel and open valleys to expansive ridgeline views and unique perspectives of the region’s volcanic peaks, including the striking presence of Mount Cooroora as you approach Pomona.
Depending on your chosen route option, riders can expect a mix of smooth gravel cruising, rolling climbs, and longer endurance-style sections, with more adventurous riders able to include rougher and more challenging gravel terrain throughout the day.
The day finishes in Pomona, where riders can stay at unique hinterland accommodation options such as Noosa Eco Retreat and enjoy dinner at Pomona Distilling Co. or one of the town’s local cafés, breweries, or restaurants.
Day 2 — Woondum, Beenham Valley, Kin Kin & Boreen Point
Day two explores the regions surrounding Woondum National Park and the spectacular Beenham Valley, with remote gravel roads, forests, open farmland, and long valley views creating a true hinterland adventure feel.
The route continues through Kin Kin before reaching Boreen Point for a scenic lunch stop beside the lake, before returning toward Noosa through the forests and gravel roads surrounding Ringtail.
Over two days, riders experience some of the best gravel riding and scenery the Noosa Hinterland has to offer — immersive, challenging, and well beyond the coastline.
One journey two route options
Riders can choose between two route options — one predominantly featuring paved backroads and Grade 1–2 gravel, and another slightly longer and more adventurous route incorporating sections of rougher MTB-style Grade 4–5 terrain, including unmaintained, rocky, and often muddy sections for experienced riders seeking a bigger challenge.
