About This Tour

Ride beyond the coastline and discover another side of Noosa through quiet country roads, rainforest-lined gravel, rolling hinterland climbs, and classic country towns.

Choose from a range of self-guided gravel routes exploring the Noosa Hinterland, Mary Valley, and surrounding regions. From shorter scenic cruises on smooth flowing gravel to longer endurance rides with bigger climbs and more challenging terrain, there are options designed for a wide range of riders, fitness levels, and riding styles.

Designed as true point-to-point adventures, we transport riders from our Noosaville base deep into the hinterland so you can spend the day riding back toward the coast through constantly changing landscapes and terrain.

Routes range from approximately 40km to 125km, with elevations from around 400m to 1300m, travelling through places like Kin Kin, Pomona, Cooran, Boreen Point and beyond. Expect a mix of quiet country roads, forest sections, ridgeline views, open farmland, rainforest-lined gravel, and unique perspectives of the region’s striking peaks and landscapes.

Premium gravel bike and eBike hire is available, along with BYO bike options. Depending on the route and style of ride, tours are suitable for gravel bikes, hardtail MTBs, and eMTBs.

Whether you’re chasing a relaxed scenic ride, a challenging endurance day, or a unique way to experience the Noosa Biosphere beyond the beaches, these rides are designed to help you explore deeper and ride further into the hinterland landscapes surrounding Noosa.

Great Noosa adventure

This is not just a bike ride, it’s a genuine riding experience. The routes felt curated by people who actually ride gravel bikes properly. Smooth gravel, flowing descents, beautiful climbs and incredible scenery the whole way. We rode sections we never would have found on our own and finished already planning our next trip back.

The perfect mix of adventure and flexibility

We brought our own bikes and the team helped us choose a route that suited exactly what we wanted — scenic, challenging, but still achievable. The ride through Kin Kin and the surrounding hinterland was stunning, with almost no traffic and endless views across the valleys and peaks.

Absolutely blew me away

We expected a nice gravel ride and ended up discovering a completely different side of Noosa. The ridgeline views, quiet backroads, rainforest sections and little country towns made this one of the best rides we’ve done in Australia. The GPS navigation was simple to follow and having transport organised made the whole day incredibly easy.

FAQ’s

Some previous cycling experience is highly recommended. Routes can be tailored depending on ability and fitness levels.
Absolutely. Many riders choose to bring their own gravel or mountain bike.
All rides begin from our Noosaville office. From there, we transport riders into the heart of the hinterland, allowing you to enjoy an incredible point-to-point riding experience back toward the coast through the forests, valleys, ridgelines, and country towns of the Noosa Hinterland and surrounding regions.
Most of our routes are designed to be achievable for recreational riders with a reasonable level of fitness and confidence riding on mixed surfaces. The majority of rides use sealed backroads and Grade 1–2 gravel roads, which are generally smooth, predictable, and suitable for gravel bikes and capable recreational riders. We also offer more challenging routes for experienced riders, which may include longer distances, steeper climbs, and sections of Grade 3–4 gravel with rougher surfaces, loose gravel, corrugations, or more remote terrain. Because riders have access to our full route collection after booking, we can help match you with a ride that best suits your experience, fitness, and riding style.
Our gravel routes range from approximately 40km to 125km, with elevation ranging from around 400m to 1300m depending on the route selected. We offer everything from relaxed scenic rides through to longer endurance-style adventures for experienced riders. Once booked, you’ll have access to our full route collection and can discuss the best option for your fitness, experience, and riding goals with our team.
Expect a mix of compact gravel roads, quiet paved country roads, forest sections, rolling hills, and scenic hinterland terrain.
No. Most routes are approximately 50% gravel and 50% paved roads, although this varies depending on the specific route selected. The paved sections are generally concentrated closer to Noosa and typically use quieter backroads where possible. However, some sections do utilise more heavily used roads when required to link key areas, towns, or gravel sectors together.
Most of the gravel roads used on our standard routes are well maintained, regularly graded, and generally excellent to ride on. However, road conditions can change over time due to weather, traffic, and maintenance schedules. On routes designed for more experienced riders, we also utilise some management tracks and rougher backcountry sectors that can be impacted more significantly by wet weather. These sections may include loose gravel, corrugations, muddy areas, washouts, or rougher surfaces depending on recent conditions.
Although we try to keep routes to quite roads and areas most routes will have short sections in busier areas
Bike hire (if selected), helmets, route planning, basic tools, navigation support (GPS maps), local guidance, and transport to all Hinterland start points are included.
These are primarily self-guided experiences designed to give riders the freedom to explore at their own pace while still having the important details taken care of. We assist with route planning, navigation, premium bike hire, accommodation suggestions, and logistics, making it easy to simply arrive and ride. However, guided experiences may also be available on request depending on guide availability, group size, and the type of ride you are looking to do.
We provide GPS route files compatible with most popular cycling navigation devices and smartphone apps. Routes can be downloaded and used on your own device, or we can provide a navigation device/phone for your group on request at no additional cost. While the routes are generally considered straightforward to follow, all self-guided experiences rely on riders being comfortable navigating independently and able to do so safely throughout the ride.
Yes. You are free to leave, modify, shorten, or rejoin the suggested routes at your own discretion. These are self-guided rides, and ultimately the route choices you make during the day are entirely up to you. We provide recommended routes, transport, navigation support, local knowledge, and bike hire where applicable, but riders are responsible for their own navigation, decision-making, and route selection throughout the ride.
Yes. We provide GPS route files compatible with most popular cycling GPS devices and smartphone navigation apps, allowing you to use your own setup if preferred. We can also provide a navigation device/phone for your group on request at no additional cost.
Ride times typically range from approximately 3 to 8 hours depending on the route selected, riding pace, fitness level, and how often you stop for food, photos, or sightseeing along the way. Shorter scenic routes can be completed comfortably within a few hours, while longer endurance-style rides are designed as full-day adventures.
These rides are completed at your own pace, allowing flexibility for stops, sightseeing, food breaks, and ride speed throughout the day. However, all riders must return to our Noosa workshop by 4:00pm. This generally allows approximately 6 hours to complete your ride. If you’re looking for a longer experience, please discuss our overnight gravel tour options, which can include luggage transfers and additional logistical support.
Yes. Premium eMTB Bike options are available for riders wanting extra support on climbs and longer distances.
eBike range depends on a number of factors including rider weight, fitness, terrain, wind, tyre pressure, riding style, and assist mode selection. However, our eMTBs are capable of completing all standard routes for most riders when battery usage is managed appropriately. For longer rides, this will generally require riders to spend significant time in lower power modes and use higher assist settings strategically on steeper climbs or more demanding terrain.
These are self-guided rides and riders are expected to be self-sufficient. We provide basic tools to help manage common issues like flat tyres, and you should be comfortable handling simple repairs on your own. Please note: We do not offer a roadside support service Call-out assistance, if available, will incur significant fees Wait times can be several hours, depending on location and availability In some remote areas, assistance may not be possible at all If you’re unsure about your ability to manage basic mechanicals, we recommend considering a guided option or riding with someone experienced.

Rides may continue in light rain, however severe weather conditions may require rescheduling for safety reasons. Please see our Booking Terms and Conditions for more information.

Yes. We offer overnight and multi-day Noosa Hinterland gravel adventures with accommodation and luggage transfer options available. See our overnight tour here.
